  • The purpose of this “how to” is to show how to share a OneDrive folder with an external user.

Caveats:

  • Limited to 20MB size
  • Be aware that whomever you share a particular OneDrive folder with, will be able to see everything within the folder. Ensure to create separate shared folders for different users.
  1. First sign in to portal.office.com
  2. Click on OneDrive icon
  3. Once inside your OneDrive Create a folder you would like to share by clicking on the new button in the OneDrive tool bar.
    1. hello
  4. Next, you select the newly created folder you would like to share and click “share” from the tool bar.
  5. In the “send link” dialog box that opens click on the drop down
  6. And select “Specific People” and check the “Allow editing”
  7. Apply the changes
  8. The next window will allow you to input the emails of the users you would like to access this folder. Keep in mind that everyone who you give access to will be able to see and edit everything in the folder you just shared to them even if different users access the link.
